Water flow downstream

As a predominantly Water element, I need to understand and be aware of my strengths as well as my weaknesses. Taking a shower, I watched the water flowing towards the drain. It occurred to me how powerful and focused their force is while the move is in its natural direction (downwards). Standing water become stale and green, moving water have power. When I am on a mission, I am empowered; when I am indecisive or depending on others to make a move, I get depressed. While I need to develop a better strategy for times when I cannot take action, it’s best for me to always be on the move. This is my nature so long as Water is my element.

  1. Such is my love for my daily swim.

No matter how stressed …. no matter how physically tired… no matter how much work awaits me back at the office, I feel an incredible sense of power and peace with every stroke I take.

Enveloped by the water, my body’s smooth straight meditative dance from one end of the pool to the other is emotionally renewing, athletically demanding, and tantalizingly invigorating.

The water demands that my body and breath are in sync.

The water soothes my aching joints.

    Its resistance challenges me.

    Its buoyancy supports me.

And when I lift myself out of the water and head to the lockers…I’m a little breathy… yet completely energized.

    A perfect dichotomy.

Water is my element as well….
