Kill, kill, kill!

A black bear mauled a guy in NJ; a first fatal attack in a 150 years. Solution? Let’s do away with the black bears! We spent the last hundred plus years building over a land these bears once had the nerve to freely roam, and now they act desperate. It’s time to say bye-bye to that species. What? Haven’t we, New-World Americans, done the same to the bulk majority of the Native Americans? There is no news here.

And while we are at it, how about those damn bees? One stung my son last summer. Let’s do away with these little buggers too. As it is, technology is now replacing pollinators with tiny drones. We don’t need those stingy busters any more. Deer is eating my flowerbeds – poof! Deer be gone. Groundhogs, snakes, and let’s not forget cockroaches; anything we find disgusting or that stands in our way – exterminate!

But then, when a group of radical Islamists in some God forsaken country in the Middle-East tries to annihilate us because they find our American culture revolting; our mere existence an offense, we cannot comprehend how come someone wants to hurt us, just because we do not see eye to eye. Hmm…

Learned from: a news story about a request made to extend bear hunting season in NJ.
p.s. my sincere condolences to the family of the 22 yo who lost his life in the black bear. The above commentary is not intended in any way, shape or form to diminish the tragedy of a lost life. Quite the contrary.
